I thought about calling it a highlight reel, but we really didn’t even capture all the best rides or moves. It’s more like a light reel, which makes no sense at all. Regardless, we were at the 2010 National Championships of Surf Kayaking and we shot some video. There are actually a couple pretty cool shots of good wave rides in there. Here it is.
After the Deadman in the Darkroom gig at the 2008 Gauley Fest, I was approached, by an old friend of mine, to help in producing a short film. The goal of this project was to aid in acquiring funds to purchase a two mile stretch banking the Lower Chauga in the upstate of South Carolina. These two miles are located within the runout of the often paddled class IV Chauga section. This acquisition would connect to the present Chau Ram Park trail system and give the general public access to a greater portion of this wilderness. Due to the recession in America’s economy the State of South Carolina cut all funding from the Preservation Department and the project never got off the ground.
Spring 2008: March-June I shot a good handful of footage that never made it into any of our videos. Also, Daniel Windham and Chris Gragtmans contributed some nice footage from the Elk Gorge and the Fayetteville WV area. All in all this made for a fun Video-Podcast. The normal “edit-to-music” format wasn’t doing it for me so I decided to do more of a commentary style mixed with music. You’ll see once you get into the video.
